At a cafe we came across by chance
Episode 1. A Cup of Americano
Seoyeon left the house in a hurry because she overslept.
"Oh, seriously, why today of all days..."
The interview was at 10:00. It was now 9:42. It was at least a 30-minute subway ride away.
First, she needed to get some caffeine. Seoyeon ran into the first café she saw.
"I'd like an Americano. Hurry up, please."
Seoyeon looked up from over the counter and froze in place.
Park Ji-ho.
The person I had a crush on throughout my three years of high school was standing there wearing an apron.
"Uh... Seoyeon?"
Jiho was the first to notice. It had been ten years. In the meantime, Seoyeon had graduated from college, quit her job, and was now facing a job interview.
"It's been a while."
Seoyeon tried to speak calmly, trying to ignore the pounding of her heart.
"Isn't that Americano? Wait a minute."
While Jiho poured coffee, Seoyeon watched his back. His shoulders had broadened. He seemed taller, too. But when he smiled, his eyes still curved like crescent moons.
"here."
Jiho handed Seoyeon a cup. Just as she was about to accept it, their fingers brushed against each other.
"..."
Neither of them said anything.
"Excuse me, I have an interview..."
"Oh, okay. Go ahead."
As Seoyeon opened the door and was about to leave, Jiho called her.
"Seoyeon."
"huh?"
"Coffee, service. Good luck with your interview."
Seoyeon nodded and left the cafe.
I looked at the cup and saw something written on the sleeve.
010-XXXX-XXXX
I'll buy you food, not just coffee. Call me.
Seoyeon stood there for a long time.
I was late for the interview.
